WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State senior forward
Asia Strong has been named to the first American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll for 2021-22.
The South Bend, Ind., native averaged 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 54.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range in Wichita State's two games last week.
Strong tallied 10 points and seven rebounds in the season opener vs. Chicago State and followed that with a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds in the Shockers' win at Wyoming. In 20 career games, Strong has scored 10 or more points in 18 of those games.
This is the fifth American weekly honor roll selection for Strong after earning four in 2020-21.
Strong and the Shockers continue their Rocky Mountain road trip tonight at Denver. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. CT/7 p.m. MT.
