SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Wichita State University volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles Saturday, Jan. 23, in the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational at Hammons Student Center. The set scores were 25-16, 25-18 and 25-20.

Wichita State is scheduled to wrap up play in the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, with a match against the host Missouri State Bears (1-0). Â

Sophomore
Nicole Anderson continued her stellar start to the 2021 spring campaign, tallying a match-high 14 kills on 25 attempts with just two errors for a career-best .480 hitting percentage.

Fellow sophomores
Kayce Litzau (19 assists) and Sinalauli'I Uluave (14 digs) rounded out the WSU leaders in the contest.

For the match, the Shockers outhit the Golden Eagles (0-2), .345 to .117, and tallied advantages in kills (38-33), digs (47-39) and assists (32-30).

Jeslyn Spencer paced ORU in the contest with nine kills on 21 swings and a .333 hitting percentage.
