WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men's tennis team added a top prospect for the 2021 season last week as they inked Luka Mrsic of Austria.

Mrsic has held a Universal Tennis Ranking as high as 13.71 in his junior career and has climbed up to 187 in the ITF Junior World Rankings. He has claimed the Atik ITF Junior Cup (Grade 5) in February of 2017, the Sport-Hotel-Kurz Junior Classic (Grade 4) in January of 2018, and the TK Triglav Open (Grade 4) in August of 2018. The 19-year-old Austrian also collected a career defining victory in 2018 at The 40th Slovakia Cup, as he defeated Dalibor Svrcina, who was ranked in the top 10 of the world junior rankings at the time, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.

"We're so excited to have Luka joining our team next year. Luka has tons of experience playing against the top juniors in the world which will help him adjust to college tennis quickly.  He is a big guy, around 6'5, has a lot of power on his shots, and he also has good hands." said head coach Danny Bryan.

Mrsic is the first recruit to be added to the Shockers 2020-2021 signing class.
