WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State women's tennis starts a seven-match road strip by facing Nebraska at noon on the outdoor courts of the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday.
Shocker Notables
- The Shocker duo of Marta Bellucco and Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva moved up to No. 28 in the doubles rankings based off a win over a then-top five Tulsa pair in the fall and a now ranked Kansas duo.
- Senior Allison Schulte earned her first win in her first match as a Shocker against Kansas City. Schulte, a transfer from Kansas City, was paired with Alexandra Lazarova on court three and clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win.
- The pair of LingWie Kong and Ting-ya Hsu rekindled a partnership in a win against Tulane and they are now on a three-match win streak after beating Kansas City's No. 2 duo, 6-0.
Scouting the Competition
Nebraska
- The Huskers return home after a midweek win over Rutgers on the road. NU took down the Scarlet Knights 6-1 in East Brunswick, N.J.
- The Huskers are undefeated at home in 2020 with a 6-0 record.
- Since pairing up on Feb. 14, Hayley Haakenstad and Kristina Novak are 3-1 at the No.1 doubles spot, including a 6-2 over Stevie Kennedy and Chloe Hule of TCU as well as a 6-3 win over No. 45 Thasaporn Naklo and Christin Hsieh of Iowa State.
