Head Coach ISAAC BROWN on…

… Opening Statement:
"Good game tonight. We were able to get a lot of guys in the game. Our key tonight was just to defend at a higher level. I think we're holding teams to 41 percent from the field, which is not great. So, we want to do a better job with our field goal percentage defense. I think we held them to like 26% from two-point field goals and 15% from the three point line, so we did a better job of defending and were able to get back in transition. I thought we rebounded a little better, even though the margin was just eight, it's still on the positive side. But we've got to do a better job. If we plan to win at Oxford, we've got to get on the glass and rebound."

… Dexter Dennis' season-best offensive performance:
"I thought that was huge for (Dexter's) confidence, for him to get a shot-fake, one-dribble, slam dunk and then make two threes. I think that's going to help with his confidence."

… Dennis's perceived slow starts each year:
"I'm not really sure to reason for the slow start, but I just continue to tell him to keep taking shots. When you're wide-open, take good shots. I said, try to get out in transition to get some easy baskets. That'll help give you some confidence. Try to get to the free throw line and get some easy ones. Just continue to take good shots and take shots when you wide open. We believe that you can score the ball, and it's going to happen. I mean, I still remember the game we played at SMU last year, when Dexter  went for about seven threes in one half. He's showed signs. He's more than capable of doing it."

…  on Chaunce Jenkins's performance:
"I'm excited about him... We were really pleased with the fact that Chauncey was out there trying to share the ball. When those other guys came into the game -- the walk-ons -- he was trying to get all those guys shots. As a team we had 21 assists tonight. I thought Chaunce played well. He practices hard everyday. He's in practice guarding our leading scorer, Tyson Etienne, and that'll make him a better player. He's going up against one of the better players in our league every day in practice, so he can only get better and better. We just keep telling him to learn the system and be ready when your time comes, and he played some excellent minutes tonight."

… on Trevin Wade's performance and connecting with his brother for a basket:
"Those guys play well together. Trevin is one of those guys in practice, he goes hard every day, you know, he goes up against Alterique Gilbert, he goes up against Tyson Etienne and he gives complete effort every day, picking guys up 94 feet. He's one of those guys, he's a third point guard for us right now, but we can count on him... At any given moment, he may get his opportunity, and tonight, he got his number called and he stepped up and played big minutes."

Junior guard DEXTER DENNIS on …

…  Getting into the flow of the game in a strange season:
"I know the COVID thing has had us shut down for a long time, so I feel like I'm just trying to knock the rust off. It felt like I was almost a freshman again for some time. I'm just trying to get my confidence back and knock the rust off as I try to get involved on both ends as much as I can."

… Having an aggressive mindset:
"You practice how you play, so the only way to come out of a little funk is to just attack it in practice and get your confidence up as much as you can. So, I think we're in a different mindset and (finally having) some consistency at practice has kind of helped me a lot, which I'm still trying to build on."

… His biggest critic:
"It's probably a tie between me and my mother. Most people think your parents are your biggest supporters and they're going to make excuses for you all the time, but my mother doesn't. She holds me accountable in a lot of situations when I think other parents would probably just, you know, make excuses for their kids, but she's my anchor. She holds me down a lot, you know, both my parents, I appreciate them daily. They hold me accountable."

Freshman guard CHAUNCE JENKINS on …

… Getting his first bucket as a Shocker:
"It definitely felt good to start off my career and good no like that. Couldn't have done it without my teammates. Obviously, a great pass by Craig Porter Jr., it felt so good."

Junior guard TREVIN WADE on …

… Assisting his brother Trey for the first time as a Shocker:
"Oh, sure, dream come true. We're going for this all our life. So, you know, to do it on the highest level in college basketball is great. We did it at every other level so it's just stepping stone."
