PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Wichita State University senior infielder
Luke Ritter was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for his performance on the diamond the week of April 1-7, it was announced Monday, April 8.

It's Ritter's third honor roll recognition of the season, and the sixth of his career.

A native of Overland, Park, Kan., Ritter hit .533 with eight hits in 15 at bats in the Shockers' four games during the week. He posted three doubles, a homer, four RBIs, four walks and a stolen base, and only struck out twice.

He also compiled a blistering .933 slugging and .667 on-base percentage.

In Wichita State's thrilling 11-inning, 12-11 comeback win at Tulane Friday, April 5, Ritter went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. He crossed home plate for what proved to be the winning run of the contest on a Green Wave error in the top of the 11th inning.

In the doubleheader at Tulane Saturday, April 6, Ritter went a combined 4-for-7 in the batter's box with a double, and hit his team-best seventh home run of the season – a solo shot in the top of the first inning of game two.

Ritter has now reached base safely in 44 consecutive games going back to last season.
