DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Shocker Dance team finished up competition at NDA College Nationals on Friday at the Ocean Center.
The squad competed against some of the top colleges across the nation and performed two different routines; a Pom Routine and a Team Routine.
During the Team Routine, the dancers showcased several styles within their routine. Three sections are performed; jazz, pom, and hip hop, in an exciting two minute dance. After their performance on Thursday, the dance team advanced to finals and competed on Friday placing sixth.
The pom routine is an intense drive to show as many skills, tricks and visuals within the two minute performance. Our dancers not only pushed to have sharp motion placement, but also showcase ariels, quadruple turns and lifts. The dance team placed fifth in the nation and scored the highest score in school history for a pom routine at 90.74.
