"We are excited to get this project underway and to have more amenities for our student-athletes," Boatright said. "Dondlinger Construction has partnered with WSU on many different buildings on campus and we know they will deliver a first-class product."

Phase V of the project includes a new 10,000-square foot performance facility that will feature a strength and conditioning center, locker room, media room, player lounge and offices for coaches and staff. A new Shocker dugout on the third base side will also be incorporated.

The project is completely funded through donor contributions and the construction contract is through the WSU Foundation.

Project mobilization is already underway with demolition scheduled to begin in late March. The project is expected to be substantially complete in December 2019 and ready for the athletic department by January 2020.
