WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State Athletics will break ground for the new Phase V renovation at Eck Stadium during the 2019 season. It includes a new 10,000-square foot performance facility that will feature a strength and conditioning center, locker room, media room, player lounge and offices for coaches and staff.
It will have an effect on parking, ticket office location, and the west entrance to the stadium. The construction zone will take over approximately 50 parking spots in the lot west of the stadium.
The ticket office will be located near the South entrance of Eck Stadium by the Ring of Honor. For any questions please contact the Wichita State Athletics Ticket Office at (316) 978-FANS.
Other changes that will be happening at Eck Stadium in 2019 include:
• Two charging stations, courtesy of Kansas Strong, for fans to utilize
• On Saturdays, kids will run the bases after the game and select Saturday games will feature a face painter in the concourse
• Expanded concessions menu including jalapeno poppers and fried macaroni and cheese along with an expanded selection of beverages and spirits
• Concessions will also include larger baskets of fries and nachos along with additional combo meals
• Due to a departmental policy change, fans are not allowed to bring any type of alcohol into the outfield of Eck Stadium. Liquor, beer, and cereal malt beverages (ie: vodka or Mike's Lemonade) will be prohibited. Alcohol and liquor can be purchased in the concession stands inside of Eck Stadium and it will also be sold at stands in the outfield.
• Fans will still be allowed to bring outside food and non-alcoholic beverages in sealed containers into the outfield to enjoy during games
