Shockers Sign Former ITF Junior No. 91 Bruno Britez

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State men's tennis head coach Danny Bryan announced today the signing of Bruno Britez.
 
A native of San Lorenzo, Paraguay, Britez will join spring signee Stefan Latinovic in January. Britez comes to Wichita State with substantial experience competing on the ITF Juniors Circuit, where he achieved a career high ranking of No. 91.
 
"We are very excited about the addition of Bruno to our roster. He brings a wealth of experience from not only being an ATP ranked player, but also a top 100 ITF Junior," said third year assistant coach Justin DeSanto.
 
While on the ITF Junior Tour, Britez accomplished many feats while competing in multiple big name tournaments, including; the ITF Grade 1 Banana Bowl, ITF Grade 1 Orange Bowl, XXIX Yucatan Cup, TC Bakkum Dutch Junior Open, ITF Grade 1 AT German Juniors, and 35th Asuncion Bowl.
 
"Bruno's success reflects the hard work he has put into this sport, and he is motivated to continue to improve in college to prepare for the pro tour. We look forward to helping him achieve that goal," DeSanto said.

2015 Grade A Orange Bowl
-- Knocked off Yunseong Chung (career high No. 3 ITF Junior ranking) on his way to the Round of 16 after winning three matches in qualifying
 
2015 XXIX Yucatan Cup,
-- Reached the Round of 16 after knocking off Alafia Ayeni (career high No. 27 in ITF Juniors)
 
2015 TC Bakkum Dutch Junior Open
-- Took down Kaya Gore, who reached No. 56 in ITF Juniors, to reach Round of 16

-- Defeated Yosuke Watanuki in straight sets in Round of 32. Watanuki reached as high as No. 2 in Juniors and currently ranks No. 192 in ATP Rankings.
