WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State took down UMKC, 7-0, Sunday at Genesis Health Club, getting back in the win column after a five-match skid.

DOUBLES
Andrea Caligiana and Miroslav Herzan continued their dominance in the third flight, winning 6-0 over Hunter Clark and Daniel Izadifar for their second sweep of the weekend.  Juniors Haru Inoue and Eddie Stoica got back in the win column in the second flight, taking down Tom Kruse and Diego Giraldo 6-2 to give the Shockers the early 1-0 advantage. Marius Frosa and Murkel Dellien led Airam Castellano and Alex Pozo in the first flight 5-2, before going unfinished.

SINGLES
The Shockers rolled in singles action to clinch the match, winning six straight on their way to a 7-0 sweep of the Kangaroos.  Eddie Stoica extended the Shocker lead in the fifth flight, making quick work of Daniel Izadifar in straight sets (6-1, 6-3). Dellien extended the Shocker lead to 3-0 with a straight set victory (6-3, 6-4) over Tom Kruse in the third flight. Senior Miroslav Herzan got in the win column for the sixth time this season, winning in straight sets over Diego Giraldo (7-5, 7-5) to clinch the match for WSU. Andrea Caligiana stepped in for the Shockers in the sixth flight and came away victorious, (7-5. 6-3). In the first and second flights, Inoue and Frosa came away with super tiebreaker victories. The latter won the first set over Castellano in a tiebreaker (7-6(5)) before dropping the second ( 5-7). Frosa rolled in the super tiebreaker (10-3) to give the Shockers their sixth point. Inoue rolled as well, winning 10-3 in the tiebreaker after splitting sets with Pozo.

The Shockers will have a quick turnaround with a trip to Tulsa tomorrow. WSU will face the Golden Hurricane at 6 p.m. at the Case Tennis Center, for their first match against an American Athletic Conference opponent.
