Fatima Bizhukova and
Marta Bellucco finished play Friday at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, hosted by the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club.

The duo, who came into the tournament with wins over four ranked opponents, took on Ashley Lahey and Evgeniya Levashova of Pepperdine in Wednesday's first round. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the No. 26-ranked Pepperdine duo raced back to tie the set at three. The teams traded games before Lahey and Levashova broke to go up 5-4, serving for the set. Bizhukova and Bellucco rallied to break back and tie the match at five. After leading 6-5, the Shocker duo fell in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (4) in the first set.

The WSU duo jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second, before the Pepperdine duo rallied to win six-straight games, taking the match (7-6 (4), 6-2)

The junior tandem took on Marta Kowalska and Maria Krunic of Pennsylvania in Thursday's first round of consolation play. After racing out to a 5-2 lead, the duo took the first set 6-4. In the second, Bizhukova and Bellucco rolled to claim the set, 6-4 and move on to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket.

Facing Tulsa's Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner for the second time this fall, the Shocker duo fell short in the quarterfinals (6-0, 6-1) to wrap up play at the Fall Championships.

Compiling an 8-3 record in the fall, Bizhukova and Bellucco put together one of the most successful fall campaigns in recent history. The two were 4-1 against ranked opponents, including wins over three top-30 opponents. They reached the semifinals of ITA Riviera All-American Championships for the first time in program history and received a bid to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships for the first time.
