PHILADELPHIA – The Wichita State University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss at Temple Friday, Nov. 16, inside McGonigle Hall. The set scores were 23-25, 20-25, 25-23 and 24-26.
Wichita State (12-15, 7-9 American) is slated to travel to UConn for its final regular season road match Sunday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT).
Sophomore
Regan Stiawalt led the Shockers, tallying a career-best 12 kills, while junior
Alex Koon added 10 kills and tied her career-high with five blocks. Redshirt freshman
Kora Kauling added a match-best 33 assists, and sophomore
Giorgia Civita posted a match-high 26 digs, respectively.
Miray Bolukbasi had a match-high 19 kills on 34 attempts with five errors for a .412 attacking percentage, leading the Owls (7-21, 4-12 American). Katerina Papazoglou added a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Temple outhit Wichita State in the match, .229 to .219, and tallied a 5-2 advantage in service aces. The Owls posted 67 kills and 63 assists in the contest while limiting the Shockers to just 52 kills and 48 assists.
