SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Wichita State finished the 2017 season with a 6-3 loss to Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Greyson Jenista went 3-for-5, while
Alec Bohm went 2-for-5 with a home run and an RBI.
Starter
Robby Evans went two innings and gave up five runs on five hits with no walks and one strikeout.
The Bears used a leadoff home run from Blake Graham to go in front 1-0 in the second. Doubles from Alex Jefferson and Logan Geha increased the lead to 2-0.
Back-to-back home runs from Justin Paulsen and Jake Burger and an RBI single from Graham pushed the lead to 5-0 in the third.
The Shockers got on the board in the fourth. With one out, Bohm singled to third base and moved to third on a double from
Willie Schwanke. Bohm scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 5-1.
The Bears added an unearned run in the sixth for a 6-1 lead, but the Shockers got it back in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run from Bohm.
Jordan Boyer's solo home run cut the lead to 6-3 in the seventh.
