PEORIA, Ill. – Wichita State collected its first hit with two outs in the seventh inning as they fell to Bradley in the final game of the series, 1-0.
Jenni Brooks got her second start of the season after winning her first game yesterday and threw six innings and allowed just one run on four hits but received the loss to finish 1-1 on the weekend.
Bradley scored the only run of the game in the third inning after a triple by Maria Schroeder came in to score on a single from Caitlyn McCarron to make the score 1-0.
The Shockers could not get a runner on base until
Madison Perrigan singled down the left field line to break up both the perfect game and no-hitter, but the Shockers were unable to score, falling to Bradley, 1-0.
The Shockers are now 22-14 overall and move to 8-4 in MVC play. The Shockers travel to Lawrence, Kan., on Tuesday to take on Kansas at 6 p.m.
