Box Score DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Wichita State women's tennis team picked up its third sweep of an MVC opponent this year, downing Drake 7-0 this afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. The win extends WSU's winning streak against Valley foes to 83 matches.

The Shockers (12-7, 4-0 MVC) took the doubles point despite winning one match. Drake only had five players available today, which meant that the third flight doubles matchup had to be forfeited. Fatima Bizhukova/Gabriela Porubin defeated Summer Brills/Joely Lomas 6-2 in the top flight to clinch the point. Bizhukova and Porubin improved to 14-6 overall (13-5 in duals, all in the top flight) as a duo, and have won five-straight. Tanaporn Thongsing/Ting-Ya Hsu were leading their second-flight match against Tess Herder/Mela Jaglarz 5-2, but went unfinished.

In singles play, WSU automatically gained a point with no Bulldog available to play in the sixth flight. Several Shockers extended their singles winning streaks: Fatima Bizhukova (15-4 in duals) won her eighth-straight match, winning 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) in the second flight, Marta Bellucco made it five-in-a-row with her 6-4, 6-2 victory in the fourth flight and Marija Mastilovic has now won three consecutive matches after winning 6-3, 7-5 in the fifth flight. In the top flight, Giulia Guidetti picked up her 21st overall win on the year with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win over Brills. Hsu picked up a third flight 6-0, 6-2 win to round out the scoring for WSU.

Drake drops to 8-7 on the year, and is 0-2 in MVC play.
