PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley used a solo home run from Derek Bangert in the eighth inning to defeat Wichita State 11-10 in game two of the series.
Noah Croft went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two home runs, while
Trey Vickers went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Starter
Tommy Barnhouse went two innings and gave up six runs on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
With one out in the second, Vickers doubled to left field and scored on a home run by
Dayton Dugas to put the Shockers up 2-0. Croft followed with his first career home run to increase the lead to 3-0.
Willie Schwanke and
Alec Bohm led off the third with back-to-back doubles and Vickers' RBI single scored Bohm for a 5-0 lead. Croft's two-out double drove in Vickers to make the score 6-0.
The Braves came storming back in the third. The first six batters of the inning reached and all scored to tie the game at six. The inning featured back-to-back home runs from Derek Bangert and Ian Kristan.
Greyson Jenista's home run to right field put the Shockers up 7-6 in the fourth, but the Braves scored three in the fourth to take a 9-7 lead. Luke Shadid's leadoff triple in the sixth led to another Braves run to increase their lead to 10-7.
Alex Jackson and Vickers both singled with one-out in the seventh and Croft hit his second home run of the game to tie the score at 10.
Bangert's second home run of the day gave the Braves the 11-10 win in the eighth.
The Shockers and Braves wrap up the series on Sun., April 16 at 1 p.m.
