No. 3 Texas Tech Takes Game Two, 4-1

WICHITA, Kan. – No. 3 Texas Tech won the series with a 4-1 win in game two over Wichita State Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium.

Starter Zach Lewis went seven innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with one walk and a career-high 10 strikeouts.

Trey Vickers went 2-for-3, while Bryant Klusener had the RBI.

In the third, John McMillon led off with a home run to center field to get the Red Raiders on the board. With two outs, Tanner Gardner walked and scored on a triple off the wall by Hunter Hargrove to give Tech a 2-0 lead.

Ryan Long doubled with one out in the fifth and came around to score on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 3-0.

The Shockers broke up the shutout in the seventh. Vickers led off with a single and moved to third on a double by Jacob Katzfey. Klusener's sacrifice fly scored Vickers to cut the lead to 3-1.

The Red Raiders used back-to-back doubles in the eighth to score the final run of the game.

The Shockers and Red Raiders wrap up the series on Sun., March 26 at 12 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
