WICHITA, Kan. -- The No. 50 Wichita State men's tennis team will host No. 21 Cornell on Sat., March 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Genesis on Rock Road. Free pizza will also be available to those in attendance.
Wichita State (7-5) will look to grab back-to-back ranked wins, after defeating No. 45 Cal Poly 4-3 in the Pacific Mountain Invitational championship match. The Shockers joined the Oracle/ITA ranks this week at No. 50, the first top-50 ranking for the team in nearly two years. Sophomore
Haru Inoue is also ranked in singles play for the first time in his career, breaking in at No. 71 this week. Inoue is 19-8 on the year, and is riding a five-match winning streak, all coming in top-flight matchups.
Cornell (12-2) has won four of their last five matches, which include wins over No. 33 Wisconsin and No. 34 Indiana, and the loss was a tight 4-3 match against No. 26 Memphis. Overall, Cornell is 4-2 against ranked opponents so far this season. The Big Red do not feature any ranked players.
This is the first meeting between Wichita State and Cornell.

Wichita State will head to Kansas City, Mo. to play UMKC at 12:30 p.m. on Fri., March 17 at the Plaza Tennis Center. WSU will then go to Lincoln, Neb. that Saturday to challenge Nebraska at 1 p.m.
