WICHITA, Kan. – Five Shockers reached double-figures, and Wichita State used a dominant first half to steamroll Missouri State, 80-62, Thursday night at Charles Koch Arena.
Helped by runs of 12-0, 17-2 and 18-0, the Shockers needed just 22 minutes to build a 34-point lead.
WSU (22-4, 12-1 MVC) won its seventh straight game and kept pace with Illinois State atop the conference standings with five games to go.
Shaquille Morris led a balanced attack with 13 points, and
Zach Brown added 12.

Conner Frankamp tacked on 10 points apiece.
Alize Johnson and Chris Kendrix paced Missouri State (15-11, 6-7 MVC) with 11 points each.
WSU hit 55 percent in the first half and finished at 46.3 percent for the game on 10-of-22 shooting from deep. The Shockers scored 27 off of 21 MSU turnovers.
MSU overcame a chilly 28.6 percent first-half to shoot an even 37 percent for the game. The Bears were 2-8 from three in the first half but rallied to hit 7-of-11 threes in the final period.
MSU outrebounded WSU for the first time since 2011 (41-34), but the Shockers continued their overall mastery, posting their 13
th consecutive win over the Bears.
The Shockers trailed 3-2 but quickly pulled away.
MSU converted on just one of its first seven field goal attempts and turned the ball over four times in the first six minutes.
A 12-0 Shocker run, fueled by a pair of
Landry Shamet triples and two Willis buckets made it a 14-3 ballgame.
Shamet has connected on a triple in 15-straight games – one shy of the program's freshman record.
After MSU rallied to within 16-11, WSU scored 17 of the next 19 points.
Daishon Smith shook out of a shooting slump with two threes, and Morris and
Zach Brown followed with two highlight reel dunks in less than a minute.
Frankamp swished a couple of free throws to cap the run and put the Shockers up 20, 33-13, at the 7:20-mark.
A six-minute MSU scoring drought led to further separation. WSU scored the last 11 points of the first half and the first seven points out of halftime to go up 34.
Following a three-pointer from Frankamp and a three-point play from Morris, the Shockers held a 78-50 lead with 5:15 remaining. Missouri State outscored WSU, 12-2, in the final five minutes for the final score of 80-62.
