WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State earned its second-straight three-game sweep with a 5-3 win over Grand Canyon Sunday afternoon at Eck Stadium.

Alec Bohm went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two home runs, while Greyson Jenista went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Starter Zach Lewis went four innings and gave up one earned run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Reliever Chandler Sanburn earned the win going one shutout inning, while Ben Hecht picked up his second save of the season with a perfect ninth.

The Lopes scored their first run of the series in the top of the second inning. Preston Pavlica singled to third base and moved to second on a Shocker error. Zach Malis sacrificed him to third and with two outs, Pavlica scored on a passed ball for a 1-0 Lopes lead.

The Shockers answered in the bottom of the second. Trey Vickers led off with a single and moved to third on a one-out double by Jordan Boyer. Josh DeBacker's sacrifice fly scored Vickers to tie the score at one and Jenista followed with a single through the right side to score Boyer for a 2-1 Shocker lead.

Bohm's first home run of the season extended the lead to 3-1 in the third inning.

With one out in the fourth, Cuba Bess walked and stole second. Malis' two-out single scored Bess to pull the Lopes within 3-2.

Bohm's second home run of the game was a two-run shot in the fourth inning to increase the lead to 5-2.

Griffin Barnes answered with a solo shot in the fifth to cut the Shocker lead to 5-3.

The Shockers are next in action on Wed., March 1 when they host Omaha at 3 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
