WICHITA, Kan. - No. 21 Wichita State used 18 kills from
Abbie Lehman to remain unbeaten in conference play. The Shockers (17-3, 9-0) won by scores of 25-22, 30-28, 25-19.
Lehman hit .441 in the match and also had four blocks.
Mikaela Raudsepp added 13 kills for the Shockers, and
Emily Hiebert finished with 49 assists, moving her into second place for assists in Shocker history.
Gabi Mostrom had a careeer-high 16 digs for the Shockers, while
Giorgia Civita had 17 digs.
SET 1:
• WSU took an early 5-2 lead
• The Bearcats used a 4-0 run to take a 7-6 lead
• Raudsepp's first kill of the night gave the Shockers a 9-8 lead for good
• Cincinnati kept it under three until a Raudsepp kill and a block error gave the Shockers a five point lead at 19-14
• A Raudsepp kill pushed the lead to six before a 3-0 scoring run by the Bearcats forced a WSU timeout at 22-20
• Lehman's sixth kill of the night gave the Shockers a 25-22 win
• Raudsepp, Koon and Brown had three kills while Lehman led the Shockers with six
SET 2:
• Kills from Lehman, Brown and Koon gave the Shockers an early three point lead
• A Brown block pushed the lead to 7-2 and forced a Cincinnati timeout
• A 6-0 scoring run gave the Bearcats the lead at 8-7
• The points went back and forth until two Raudsepp kills gave the Shockers a 12-10 lead
• Kills from Lehman and Raudsepp pushed the lead to four and forced a Bearcats timeout at 17-13
• The teams exchanged points until a 4-2 run by the Bearcats tied it at 22-22
• Kills went back and forth until a service error and a block by Heibert and Lehman gave the Shockers a 30-28 win
SET 3:
• The set went back and forth early until back-to-back
Abby Pugh kills gave the Shockers an 8-6 lead
•An attack error and a block from Raudsepp forced a Cincinnati timeout at 10-6
• Lehman's 17th kill of the night pushed the lead to six at 14-8
• A block by Koon and another kill by Lehman forced a Bearcat's timeout at 17-9
• Cincinnati cut into the lead until a block from Brown and a kill from Pugh pushed the lead back to six at 21-15
• Kills from Raudsepp and a block from Lehman gave the Shockers a 25-19 victory.
