TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Wichita State ended its 2016 season with a 7-1 loss to Indiana State in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Starter
Cody Tyler went six innings and gave up two runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
The Shockers had just four hits in the game, a home run from
Travis Young and singles from
Greyson Jenista,
Trey Vickers and
Mikel Mucha.
Tony Rosselli's two-run home run in the top of the sixth gave Indiana State a 2-0 lead.
WSU answered with a solo home run from
Travis Young in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Sycamores took control in the top of the seventh. INS used three singles, two walks and two Shocker errors to score four runs and go in front 6-1.
INS added another run in the eighth for the final 7-1 score.
