HEAD COACH GREGG MARSHALL…

…The win tonight

"Our first game was the post players, second game was the guards and tonight was the forwards. We didn't shoot the ball very well; our top four guards were 0-for-11 from three and we still beat Tulsa by 27 points. We did rebound the ball very well, we were plus-22 on the glass. Our bench was spectacular again."

…The bench play
"A lot of guys do things well, different things well. Some guys defend better, some guys are better on the offensive end, [and] some guys are better rebounders. Some guys are better in transition and some guys are better in the half-court. It's difficult at times to have the right five out there. With that kind of depth, you know you are going to get five guys that are going to compete hard and do what they can in all three phases of the game. On the offensive end, defensive end, and in transition to help us win."

… Sophomore forward Markis McDuffie's night
"I thought he was playing really well. Again, go with the hot hand. He was really good against the zone. He can score it inside, he can score it outside and he's pretty good [at] driving it. He can look over the defense and pass it with his length. When you are effective, you are going to get more minutes, and he was very effective tonight. "

…Freshman Austin Reaves coming in with the first group of subs
"He's been playing well. There is very little difference between some of these guys. That's the dilemma. There's not a huge separator between guys at one position. Daishon [Smith] did not practice yesterday. Austin practiced and I thought he was a little more aware. We were tweaking a few things that we did on the defensive end and [Reaves] was able to practice and go through those things and he was more cognizant of those things in practice. Daishon is obviously still a huge part of what we do. "

…How Reaves has been able to adapt and earn playing time so quickly as a true freshman.
"I think basketball is really important to him first of all. Secondly, at Cedar Ridge (High School in Arkansas) he was well coached. He had a great run there of state championships…He comes from a basketball family. His mom and dad were great players at Arkansas State. Basketball is important to him. He's a smart kid, and he listens and he's a pleaser. That's a good combination right there. He's not the only one like that, but he certainly is like that for a freshman. "

…Darral Willis' progression after a lackluster exhibition performance.
"He was really good on our tour in Canada, too, so we know he's a talent. It's just a matter of him of doing all the phases of the game. Defending [and] rebounding. I thought he rebounded very well tonight. So did [Rashard] Kelly and so did Markis McDuffie. " ?

ZACH BROWN ON…

… A big night from the forwards
"There's going to be games where Markis (McDuffie) has a good game, and Rauno (Nurger) has 15 and Conner (Frankamp) has 16. It was just a day for me, Darral (Willis Jr.) and Markis. I would say everybody is going to have a day like that, and that is just the team that we are. We play 10-12 guys a game, so everybody is going to have a chance to do something big to help the team."

 DARRAL WILLIS ON…

…His progress since the exhibition game.
"I have come a really long way from the first exhibition game. I was terrible at defense, I got way better at that. Coming from a junior college, I liked to score the ball a lot, but now it's just play defense and score when the time comes. Don't rush into it."

 MARKIS McDUFFIE ON…

… His big scoring night and what it means for future games.
"I am all about the team first, so whatever happens. If they look for me, I am still going to be aggressive in all phases of the game. I had a career night, but that's not really what I focus on. I focus on winning and if it happens, it happens. I am just going to continue to play my game."

… Making Tulsa work on the defensive end with good ball movement
"We swung the ball around until we got a good shot. It's surprising that in our third game we have this good of chemistry for a brand new team. I am very excited to see what else we can accomplish this year."
