 The Shockers received 12 points in the poll after going 4-1 this past weekend with wins over South Dakota State, Northern Illinois, No. 21 Kentucky and Texas State. The Shockers also lost to No. 7 Illinois.

Lehman Named Valley Player of the WeekWichita State volleyball student-athlete
Abbie Lehman has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 7-13. She also earned MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors as she has a 3.7 cumulative grade-point average in exercise science.
Lehman, a sophomore middle blocker from Newton, Kan., led the Shockers to a 4-1 record over the weekend at the Shocker Volleyball Classic and earned all-tournament team honors. She averaged 2.72 kills, 0.22 aces, 0.50 digs, 0.72 blocks and 3.31 points per set, while hitting .506.
In the three-set win over South Dakota State, she had a match-high 11 kills on 17 swings and hit .647. She also added one assist, two service aces, one dig and two blocks. In the four-set win over Northern Illinois, she had 12 kills on 21 swings and hit .571. She also had one assist, one service ace, four digs and one block. In the five-set win over No. 21 Kentucky, she had 10 kills on 23 swings and hit .261 with one dig and a team-high four blocks. In the three-set win over Texas State, she had a match-high 11 kills on 14 swings and hit .786 with one assist, one service ace, one dig and three blocks. In the three-set loss to No. 7 Illinois, she had five kills on 12 swings and hit .333 with two digs and three blocks.
It is the third MVC Player of the Week honor of her career.
Three Named to Shocker Volleyball Classic All-Tourney TeamThree Shockers earned all-tournament team honors over the weekend at the Shocker Volleyball Classic. Sophomore middle blocker
Abbie Lehman averaged 2.72 kills, 0.22 aces, 0.50 digs and 0.72 blocks per set and hit .506 in five tournament matches. Senior right side hitter
Katie Reilly averaged 3.06 kills, 0.17 aces, 0.78 digs and 0.33 blocks per set and hit .386, while sophomore setter
Emily Hiebert averaged 1.11 kills, 10.78 assists, 0.33 aces, 2.06 digs and 0.56 blocks per set while hitting .400.
Reilly Heating UpSenior right-side hitter
Katie Reilly has come on strong over the last eight matches. She is averaging a team-best 2.79 kills per set during that stretch and hitting a team-best .393. She is also averaging 0.17 aces, 0.69 digs and 0.45 blocks per set. She totaled a career-high 19 kills against No. 21 Kentucky on Sept. 11 and has also had double-digit kills against New Mexico State, Northern Illinois and Texas State.
Win Over No. 21 KentuckyWichita State earned a thrilling five-set win over No. 21 Kentucky on Sept. 11. The Shockers trailed 9-4 in the fifth set and used a 6-1 run highlighted by two service aces from
Emily Hiebert to tie the score at 10. A
Jody Larson service ace gave the Shockers a 12-11 lead and WSU went on to win the set 15-12. It was the first win over a ranked team for the Shockers since 2012 when they defeated No. 20 Kansas to advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.
Home OpenerWichita State opened up the home portion of the schedule on Thurs., Sept. 10 against South Dakota State. WSU is now 24-15-1 in home openers overall and 13-3 in home openers under head coach

Mostrom Passes 1,000 DigsJunior libero
Dani Mostrom recorded her 1,000th career dig on Aug. 29 at No. 18 Hawaii. She now has 1,131 career digs and is the 17th Shocker in school history to collect 1,000 digs.
