Anton "Hap" Houlik (Football, 1946-49)

Houlik was a fast, versatile halfback who lettered at Wichita State for four consecutive years. At the time of his induction into the Hall of Fame he was sixth in career all-purpose yardage at Wichita State (2,571 yards), held the school record for career interceptions (13), longest kickoff return (108 yards vs. Arizona State in 1946), was fourth in career interception return yardage (163 yards), and tenth in career kickoff return yardage (490). In addition to his 108-yard kickoff return, he also had a 93-yard kickoff return, an 88-yard run from scrimmage, an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 68-yard punt return. His career totals at Wichita State were, 1,174 yards rushing, 30 pass receptions for 651 yards, 490 yards in kickoff returns, 93 on punt returns and 163 yards in interception returns. Inducted, 1985.
