A dominant figure on the Shocker tennis scene for 15 years as a standout player and highly successful coach.
 
  • His 104 career singles victories stand as a Shocker record .
  • Named the team¹s Most Valuable Player in 1975,1976 and 1978 .
  • Captured the Missouri Valley Conference singles title at the No. 5 position in 1978 .
  • His victory helped the Shockers to the first of 11 consecutive conference team championships .
  • Teamed with Mark McMahon to qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championships in 1978 .
  • Posted 69 career doubles victories .
  • After serving two years as assistant coach, he took over the men¹s program in 1980.
  • His first team went 24-0.
  • Guided the Shockers to MVC championships in all nine years of his coaching career .
  • Compiled a 152-83 coaching record .
  • His Shocker teams were represented in the NCAA Tennis Championships five consecutive years from 1980-84 .
  • WSU finished with a No. 17 national ranking in 1983 .
  • Under his direction, 25 Shocker players were crowned MVC champions one or more times. Inducted, 1995.
