Kennie Steenstra (Baseball, 1990-92)

Career highlights for Steenstra, who played baseball at WSU from 1990-92, include being named first team All-America by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, American Baseball Coaches Association, as well as first-team academic All-America in 1991. During 1991, Steenstra set the NCAA record for most wins without a loss for a season with a 17-0 record. Steenstra also garnered two all-Missouri Valley Conference honors, two NCAA all-Midwest Regional honors, the 1991 MVC Pitcher-of-the-Year honor, as well as 1992 all-Midwest Regional MVP honors. He also ranks in the top eight of nine WSU career categories, including first with 25-consecutive victories. For his career, Steenstra had a record of 39-4 with a 2.95 earned run average, and 14 complete games. Steenstra, drafted in 1992 by the Chicago Cubs, currently plays with the Kansas City Royals.
