A two-time Baseball America second-team member, he also earned second-team All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball in 1991...Wimmer was also a two-time member of the Midwest Regional all-tournament team, and played on two WSU College World Series Teams...A three-time All-MVC first team honoree, he was named in 1990 in left field and in 1991 and 1992 at shortstop...Led 1992 team in hits, stolen bases and runs, while he is the only Shocker to three times lead the team in season hits...Was in the Shocker career top 10 in four categories, assists, batting average, stolen bases and hit by pitch at the end of his career...In 1991, he led the NCAA in hits with 125 and runs with 99, while he also led the team in batting average (.401)...Also was listed in the top 10 in seven WSU season categories, including assists, at bats, hits, runs, stolen bases, hit by pitch, while his 32-game hitting streak from 1990-91 was second all-time at the end of his career...As a freshman in 1990, he was named Baseball America Freshman All-American second team...  A member of the 1992 USA Olympic Team...Signed with and drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1992, and has played with the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations...A Wichita, Kan., native...Inducted, 2006.
