WICHITA, Kan
 – Wichita State sat through a long rain delay and fought off a late inning comeback from Evansville to take game two of the series by a final score of 10-7.

Jeb Bargfeldt got the start and threw five solid innings giving up six hits and two earned runs.

At the plate, the Shockers were led by Ryan Tinkham who went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI. Sam Hilliard also had a solid day going 1-for-2 with a triple and three walks.

The Shockers got on the board first scoring in the bottom of the first. Sam Hilliard hit his team leading fourth triple of the year and Ryan Tinkham hit a sacrifice fly to score Hilliard.

Gunnar Troutwine expanded the Shocker lead in the third as he hit a two-run home run over the left field fence. Chase Rader then followed that up by hitting a no-doubter off the scoreboard in left field. The second home run chased the Aces starter, Matt Rodgers. The two home runs resulted in three Shocker runs giving them a 4-0 lead after three.

In the fourth, the Shockers continued to hit the ball hard. Daniel Kihle singled, Hilliard walked and then Tinkham hit a ball off the top of the fence that bounced back into play, resulting in a double and one run scored.

The Purple Aces finally got on the board in the top of the fifth. They got their first two batters on and then Kevin Kaczmarski hit a double to score one and put runners on second and third. Korbin Williams grounded out to third scoring one run and cutting the deficit to 5-2.

Tanner Kirk got the Shockers back on the board in the fifth. He got hit by a pitch with two outs then stole second and scored on a single from Trey Vickers. Daniel Kihle followed that up with a single. Sam Hilliard walked to load the bases and then the game was moved into a lightning and rain delay.

After an hour and a half weather delay, the teams got back onto the field under a sunny sky. Ryan Billo entered the game for the Aces as the new pitcher and faced Tinkham who singled home two runs, bringing the score to 8-2.

Senior Ray Ashford was the first pitcher out of the pen once the delay was over. He threw a shut down sixth and seventh inning. In the eighth, Ashford started the inning and then the Shockers used Reagan Biechler and John Hayes as the Aces' bats came alive. The Aces scored five runs in the inning bringing the score to 8-7.

The Shockers added some insurance in the eighth inning. Bob Arens walked and then with two out WSU got things going. Mikel Mucha singled and Tanner Kirk and Trey Vickers followed that with RBI singles of their own. The two runs gave the Shockers a 10-7 lead.

Hayes came back out for the ninth inning. With a double play, he got the save as the Shockers won by a final score of 10-7.

The series wraps up on Sun., May 10 at 1 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
