WICHITA, Kan. – No. 14 UC Santa Barbara scored five runs in the seventh on the way to an 8-0 win over Wichita State in game three of the series.

Mikel Mucha went 2-for-3 for the Shockers.

Starter Sam Hilliard went 3.2 innings and gave up two runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Dempsey Grover and Scott Quinlan walked to lead off the fourth inning and Grover advanced to third on a fly ball. The Gauchos took a 1-0 lead on Campbell Wear's sacrifice fly and Quinlan scored on a double from Ryan Clark for a 2-0 lead.

The Gauchos added another run in the fifth. With two outs, Billy Fredrick hit an infield single to shortstop and scored on a triple to right-center from Quinlan for a 3-0 lead.

UCSB scored five runs on five hits and three walks in the top of the seventh to increase the lead to 8-0.

The Shockers are next in action on Tue., March 17 when they host Western Illinois at 3 p.m.
