Box Score WICHITA, Kan. – Central Arkansas used four RBI from Tyler Langley to defeat Wichita State 12-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
Daniel Kihle, Jordan Farris, Trey Vickers, Keenan Eaton, Mikel Mucha and Michael Burns each had a hit for the Shockers.
Starter Tyler Jones went four innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Joey Pinney singled for the Bears with one out in the second and Matt Anderson followed with a single. Both runners advanced on a passed ball and then a wild pitch to make the score 1-0. Logan Preston followed with a sacrifice fly to score Anderson and Wesley Hoover singled to centerfield. Tyler Langley reached on an error and Braxton Phillips tripled to right-center to make the score 4-0.
The Bears added to their lead in the fourth. Preston led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. He scored on a sacrifice fly from Langley to increase the lead to 5-0.
UCA added five runs in the eighth on five hits, a walk and a hit by pitch to make the score 10-0.
The Shockers scored their only run in the bottom of the eighth. With one out, Trey Vickers and Keenan Eaton each singled and with two outs Mikel Mucha singled to drive in Vickers to make the score 10-1.
Four walks and a hit batsman led to two runs in the ninth for UCA.
The Shockers are next in action on Wed., March 11 when they host Arkansas-Little Rock at 3 p.m.
