Shockers Play K-State in First RoundWichita State will face Kansas State (17-11) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. No. 4 national seed Nebraska (26-4) will face Harvard (15-10) at 7 p.m. Dec. 4. Winners of the two first-round matches will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 in second-round play.

Wichita State in the NCAA TournamentThe Shockers are making their ninth NCAA Tournament appearance and will play in the tournament for the eighth time in nine years. The Shockers last made an appearance in 2013 and lost at Kansas in four sets in the first round. WSU advanced to the first Sweet 16 in school history in 2012 with a first round win over Arkansas and a second round win over Kansas. WSU lost to USC in the regional semifinals. The Shockers lost in the first round of the 2011 tournament to Kansas State, 3-0. In 2010, the Shockers lost at Oklahoma, 3-0. In 2009, Wichita State beat Saint Louis, 3-1, in the first round, but lost to Iowa State, 3-0, in the second round. In 2008, the Shockers advanced to the second round, where they lost to Texas, 3-0. Nebraska defeated Wichita State, 3-0, in the second rounds of both the 2004 and 2007 tournaments.
Three Named to MVC All-Tournament TeamThree Shockers earned all-tournament team honors at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.Â
Jody Larson earned MVP honors as she averaged 2.40 kills, 3.60 digs and 0.40 blocks per set, while hitting .257.
Emily Hiebert averaged 10.10 assists, 0.60 kills, 1.90 digs and 0.50 blocks per set and

Dani Mostrom was named the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference Libero of the Year. She became the third Shocker to earn that honor joining Karen Augspurger (2003, 2004) and Kelly Broussard (2008).

25 WinsWichita State earned its 25th win of the season on Nov. 27 against UNI. It is the 10th time in program history that the Shockers have collected at least 25 wins.
WSU Wins Third MVC Tourney TitleThe Wichita State won the third Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title in school history with a dramatic five-set win over Missouri State on Nov. 28. The Shockers also won titles in 2004 and 2013.
WSU Wins Sixth MVC TitleThe Wichita State volleyball team won the sixth Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title in school history with a sweep over Evansville on Nov. 21. The Shockers also won titles in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2013.

Back-to-BackThe Shockers had two thrilling comeback victories in the MVC Tournament. Wichita State was down 0-2 in both the semifinals and the finals before coming back to win both matches. Before the tournament, the last time the Shockers had come back from an 0-2 deficit for a win was Aug. 30, 2014 against Butler. It was the first time in school history that the Shocks accomplished that feat in back-to-back matches. It was just the third and fourth time in MVC Tournament history that a team came back from an 0-2 deficit to win joining Illinois State in the 1999 semifinals and Illinois State in the 1983 finals.
80+ KillsWichita State collected 81 kills in the five-set win over Missouri State in the MVC Tournament championship. It was the first time the Shockers had 80 or more kills in a match since Nov. 27, 2009 when they had 80 against Missouri State.

Conference Tournament RecordsThe Shockers set or tied five school conference tournament records last weekend in the MVC Tournament. Individually,
Emily Hiebert tied the single match assist record with 66 against Missouri State and
Shimen Fayad tied the single match solo block record with three against Missouri State. As a team, the Shockers had a school record 81 kills in the match against Missouri State and tied the single match service ace record with nine against UNI. WSU also tied the single match solo block record with six against Missouri State.
Largest Margin of VictoryThe Shockers held Evansville to a school record low (during the rally scoring era) of four points in the third set of the Nov. 21 victory. The previous best was seven against Grambling State in 2009. Since rally scoring began in 2001, Wichita State has held an opponent to single digits in scoring nine times in the first four sets of a match.
Comeback KidsWichita State earned its second thrilling comeback in the fifth set of a match this season on Nov. 13 at Loyola. The Shockers trailed 9-4 in the fifth set and used a 7-0 run behind the serving of
Dani Mostrom to take an 11-9 lead. The Ramblers tied it at 13, but the Shockers won the set 15-13. The other comeback came on Sept. 11 against No. 21 Kentucky. The Shockers also trailed 9-4 in the fifth set of that match and used a 6-1 run highlighted by two service aces from
Emily Hiebert to tie the score at 10. A
Jody Larson service ace gave the Shockers a 12-11 lead and WSU went on to win the set 15-12.
20 WinsWichita State won its 20th match of the season on Nov. 6 against Drake. It is the Shockers' 13th-straight season with 20 or more wins. Before head coach
Chris Lamb arrived at WSU, the Shockers collected just five 20-win seasons in school history (1976, 1977, 1988, 1991, 1992).
3-0 vs. UNIWichita State won both regular-season matchups with Northern Iowa in 2015 and a meeting in the MVC Tournament. It was just the fifth time in school history that the Shockers won both regular-season meetings. WSU also went 2-0 against the Panthers in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008. It was just the second time that WSU went 3-0 against UNI. The Shockers also did it in 2005.
Hiebert's Double-DoublesSophomore setter
Emily Hiebert had her streak of six-straight double-doubles snapped on Oct. 5 at Evansville. She leads the Shockers with 15 this season and now has 25 in her career, which ranks 17th in the Shocker career record books.

Emily Hiebert continue to climb the Shocker career records list for digs and assists. Mostrom is now fourth in career digs with 1,521 and needs 35 more to move into third place, while Hiebert is ninth in assists with 2,440.
