WSU Wins Sixth MVC Title
The Wichita State volleyball team won the sixth Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title in school history with a sweep over Evansville on Nov. 21. The Shockers also won titles in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2013.

Shockers No. 1 Seed in MVC Tourney
Missouri State will host the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Nov. 26-28. Wichita State earned the No. 1 seed, while Southern Illinois is No. 2, Missouri State is No. 3, UNI is No. 4, Illinois State No. 5, and Loyola No. 6.

Shockers Play UNI or ILS in Semifinals
The Shockers will face the winner of No. 4-seed UNI and No. 5-seed Illinois State in the tournament semifinals at 5:04 p.m. Nov. 27. UNI and Illinois State play at 5:04 p.m. on Thurs., Nov. 26 in the quarterfinals.

Series History vs. Tourney Field
The Shockers are 7-3 against the tourney field in 2015. WSU's overall record against the tourney field is listed below:

WSU's Conference Tourney History
WSU enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed.  This will be the Shockers' 20th tournament appearance and 14th-straight, which is a school record. WSU's all-time conference tournament record stands at 17-17 overall and 2-5 in the championship match.  

Selection Show on Nov. 29
The winner of the MVC Tournament earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The tournament selection show will take place on Sun., Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. Central time on ESPNU.

Shocks in the RPI
Wichita State is 34th in the eighth official RPI release of the season. WSU is 3-6 against the top-50 and 8-7 against the top-100. Wins include Kentucky (19), Marquette (36), Missouri State (40), UNI twice (52), and Illinois State twice (65). Losses are against Illinois (24), Hawaii (26), Texas A&M (10), Missouri State (40), Southern Illinois twice (39) and New Mexico State (64). SIU is 39, MSU is 40, UNI is 52, ILS is 65 and Loyola is 113.

Scouting UNI
The Panthers are 18-13 overall and 12-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against UC Davis, Creighton, Cincinnati, Butler, Alabama, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Evansville twice, Bradley twice, Missouri State, Drake twice, Loyola twice, Illinois State and Indiana State. Losses have come against Baylor, No. 12 Colorado State, No. 10 Kentucky, No. 8 USC, Illinois-Chicago, Iowa State, Western Kentucky, Indiana State, Illinois State, Wichita State twice, Southern Illinois and Missouri State. As a team, UNI is hitting .189, while opponents are hitting .196. They are led by Kayla Haneline who averages 3.22 kills and 1.08 blocks per set. The Panthers are led by head coach Bobbi Petersen.

Series History vs. the Panthers
UNI leads the overall series with Wichita State 51-15-1. UNI also leads the series in Springfield, Mo., 2-1 and in the MVC Tournament 5-2.   

Last Meeting vs. UNI
The Shockers swept both meetings in 2015. WSU won 3-0 on Oct. 9 in Cedar Falls, Iowa by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22. WSU 3-0 on Nov. 7 in Wichita by scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-20. Abbie Lehman led the Shockers with 22 kills, while Emily Hiebert had 66 assists and Dani Mostrom had 35 digs.

Scouting Illinois State
The Redbirds are 22-9 overall and 12-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against Florida A&M, Long Beach State, Harvard, Rutgers, Youngstown State, IUPUI, Toledo, Illinois-Chicago, Jacksonville, Eastern Michigan, Drake twice, Northern Iowa, Bradley twice, Evansville twice, Southern Illinois, Indiana State twice, Missouri State and Loyola. Losses have come against Miami, Kansas State, Dayton, Missouri State, Wichita State twice, Loyola, Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois. As a team, the Redbirds are hitting .259, while opponents are hitting .189. They are led by Ashley Rosch who is averaging 3.84 kills and 2.64 digs per set. The Redbirds are led by head coach Melissa Myers.

Series History vs. the Redbirds
Illinois State leads the overall series with Wichita State 34-30. The Redbirds also lead the series in Springfield, Mo., 1-0 and in the MVC Tournament 3-2.        

Last Meeting vs. ILS
The Shockers won both meetings in 2015. WSU won 3-1 on Sept. 26 in Wichita by scores of 25-27, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22. WSU 3-2 on Oct. 23 in Normal, Ill., by scores of 23-25, 25-22, 26-24, 19-25 and 17-15. Katie Reilly and Mikaela Raudsepp led the Shockers with 28 kills each, while Emily Hiebert had 108 assists and Dani Mostrom had 39 digs.

Last Time Out
The Shockers lost to Southern Illinois, 3-0, on Friday. Abbie Lehman led the Shockers with 14 kills, while Emily Hiebert had 36 assists and Dani Mostrom had 19 digs. On Saturday, the Shockers swept Evansville. Lehman led the Shockers with 11 kills, while Hiebert had 34 assists and Dani Mostrom had 12 digs.

Five Named to MVC Scholar-Athlete Team
Five Wichita State volleyball student-athletes have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team. Senior Katie Reilly and sophomores Emily Hiebert, Abbie Lehman and Mikaela Raudsepp were named to the first team, while junior Dani Mostrom was named honorable mention.
Reilly has a 3.93 GPA in exercisce science, Hiebert has a 3.91 GPA in physical education, Lehman has a 3.70 GPA in exercise science, Raudsepp has a 3.97 GPA in exercise science and Mostrom has a 3.71 GPA in health science.

Shocks in the NCAA Stats
Wichita State is ranked in the top-75 nationally in several statistical categories as of Nov. 23. WSU is 39th in assists per set, 24th in hitting percentage, 18th in assists, 57th in digs, 18th in kills, and 40th in kills per set. Individually, Emily Hiebert is 34th in assists. Abbie Lehman is 42nd in blocks and 15th in hitting percentage. Shimen Fayad is 71st in service aces and 73rd in aces per set. Katie Reilly is 52nd in hitting percentage.

WSU Ranked 14th in Attendance
Wichita State is ranked 14th nationally in average attendance. The Shockers are averaging 2,261 fans per match, while national leader Nebraska is averaging 8,195 fans per match.

Largest Margin of Victory
The Shockers held Evansville to a school record low of four points in the third set of the Nov. 21 victory. The previous best was seven against Grambling State in 2009. Since rally scoring began in 2001, Wichita State has held an opponent to single digits in scoring nine times in the first four sets of a match.

Shocks Clinch Bye
The Shockers have been a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the MVC Tournament now eight times in head coach Chris Lamb's 16 seasons (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015).

Comeback Kids
Wichita State earned its second thrilling comeback in the fifth set of a match this season on Nov. 13 at Loyola. The Shockers trailed 9-4 in the fifth set and used a 7-0 run behind the serving of Dani Mostrom to take an 11-9 lead. The Ramblers tied it at 13, but the Shockers won the set 15-13. The other comeback came on Sept. 11 against No. 21 Kentucky. The Shockers also trailed 9-4 in the fifth set of that match and used a 6-1 run highlighted by two service aces from Emily Hiebert to tie the score at 10. A Jody Larson service ace gave the Shockers a 12-11 lead and WSU went on to win the set 15-12.

20 Wins
Wichita State won its 20th match of the season on Nov. 6 against Drake. It is the Shockers' 13th-straight season with 20 or more wins. Before head coach Chris Lamb arrived at WSU, the Shockers collected just five 20-win seasons in school history (1976, 1977, 1988, 1991, 1992).

2-0 vs. UNI
Wichita State won both regular-season matchups with Northern Iowa in 2015. It is just the fifth time in school history that the Shockers have done that. WSU also went 2-0 against the Panthers in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008.

Hiebert's Double-Doubles
Sophomore setter Emily Hiebert had her streak of six-straight double-doubles snapped on Oct. 5 at Evansville. She leads the Shockers with 14 this season and now has 24 in her career, which ranks tied for 17th in the Shocker career record books.

Moving on Up
Junior libero Dani Mostrom and sophomore setter Emily Hiebert continue to climb the Shocker career records list for digs and assists. Mostrom is now fifth in career digs with 1,471 and needs seven more to move into fourth place, while Hiebert is ninth in assists with 2,339.
