The Redbirds are 16-6 overall and 6-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against Florida A&M, Long Beach State, Harvard, Rutgers, Youngstown State, IUPUI, Toledo, UIC, Jacksonville, Eastern Michigan, Drake, UNI, Bradley, Evansville, Southern Illinois and Indiana State. Losses have come against Miami, Dayton, Missouri State, Wichita State and Loyola. As a team, ILS is hitting .259, while opponents are hitting .190. They are led by Ashley Rosch who is averaging 3.68 kills and 2.65 digs per set. The Redbirds are led by head coach Melissa Myers.

Series History vs. the Redbirds
Illinois State leads the overall series with the Shockers, 34-29. The Redbirds lead the series in Normal, 19-11.WSU head coach Chris Lamb holds a 24-10 record against the Redbirds. The Shockers have won 12 of the last 16 against Illinois State.      

Last Meeting vs. ILS
The last meeting between the two teams was Sept. 26, 2015, in Wichita. The Shockers won 3-1 by scores of 25-27, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22. Katie Reilly led the Shockers with 17 kills, while Emily Hiebert had 52 assists and Dani Mostrom had 20 digs.

The Sycamores are 14-10 overall and 3-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against Canisius, Morehead State, Eastern Illinois, Kent State, Oakland, UT Martin, Eastern Michigan, IPFW, Western Illinois, Chicago State, Valparaiso, UNI, Bradley and Evansville. Losses have come against Marshall, Albany, IUPUI, Murray State, Wichita State, Missouri State, Loyola, Southern Illinois and Illinois State. As a team, INS is hitting .217, while opponents are hitting .178. They are led by Bree Spangler who is averaging 2.90 kills per set. The Sycamores are led by head coach Traci Dahl Skinner.

The last meeting between the two teams was Sept. 25, 2015, in Wichita. The Shockers won 3-1 by scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-22. Abbie Lehman led the Shockers with 14 kills, while Emily Hiebert had 46 assists and Dani Mostrom had 15 digs.

Last Time Out
The Shockers defeated Bradley 3-0 on Friday. Jody Larson led the Shockers with 13 kills and seven digs, while Emily Hiebert had 23 assists. On Saturday, the Shockers beat Loyola 3-2. Larson led the Shockers with 15 kills, while Hiebert had 31 assists and Dani Mostrom had 21 digs.

Shocks in the NCAA Stats
Wichita State is ranked in the top-75 nationally in several statistical categories as of Oct. 19. WSU is 35th in assists per set, 30th in hitting percentage, 23rd in assists, 61st in digs, 25th in kills, and 43rd in kills per set. Individually, Emily Hiebert is 24th in assists and 55th in assists per set. Abbie Lehman is 26th in blocks, 60th in blocks per set and 22nd in hitting percentage and Dani Mostrom is 65th in digs. Shimen Fayad is 44th in service aces and 54th in aces per set.

WSU Ranked 16th in Attendance
Wichita State is ranked 16th nationally in average attendance. The Shockers are averaging 2,145 fans per match, while national leader Nebraska is averaging 8,171 fans per match.

Shocks in the RPI
Wichita State is 49th in the third official RPI release of the season. WSU is 2-4 against the top-50 and 5-5 against the top-100. Wins include Kentucky (11), Marquette (33), UNI (58), Loyola (71) and Illinois State (72). Hiebert's Double-Doubles
Sophomore setter Emily Hiebert had her streak of six-straight double-doubles snapped on Oct. 5 at Evansville. She leads the Shockers with 12 this season and now has 22 in her career, which ranks tied for 19th in the Shocker career record books.

Moving on Up
Two Shockers continue to move up the career records list. Sophomore setter Emily Hiebert is now 10th in the Shocker record books in career assists with 1,977. Junior libero Dani Mostrom is now seventh in the Shocker record books in career digs with 1,316.

25-Straight
With the win over Bradley on Friday, Wichita State has now won 25-straight meetings against the Braves. The last time Bradley defeated WSU was Nov. 23, 2002 in Peoria in the MVC Tournament. During the streak, WSU has lost just five sets and has never needed more than four sets to win a match.

6-2
Wichita State went to a 6-2 offense over the weekend against Bradley and Loyola and put up impressive offensive numbers. Overall the team hit .304 with Katie Reilly (.528), Mikaela Raudsepp (.364) and Jody Larson (.317) leading the way. Sophomore setter Emily Hiebert averaged 6.75 assists per set, while sophomore setter McKenzie Fyfe averaged 4.38 assists per set in the offense.
