SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Fred VanVleet, Ron Baker and Tekele Cotton scored 15 points each, and No. 14 Wichita State hit 11 threes to roll past Missouri State, 76-53, Wednesday evening at JQH Arena.

WSU (17-2, 7-0 MVC) went 11-of-19 from deep and topped 80 percent at the foul line for the first time this year on 13-of-16 shooting.

Chris Kendrix and Dorrian Williams led MSU (8-11, 2-5 MVC) with 10 points each

The Shockers extended their conference winning streak to 25 games and upped their MVC road tally to 13 straight. They also captured their ninth consecutive win over the Bears.

VanVleet dished out seven assists with just one turnover. He and Cotton each poured in 11 first-half points, and the Shockers carried a 39-33 lead into the intermission.

Darius Carter scored the first eight Shocker points of the second half on his way to 14, as WSU pushed its lead out to double-figures.

The Shockers hit three treys in a stretch of just under two minutes to kick off a 10-1 run that grew the margin to 18 (60-42) with 9:07 to go.

Baker hit 5-of-7 threes, the last with 5:58 remaining to give WSU its first 20-point lead of the night, 67-47.

Rashard Kelly and Tevin Glass each chipped in seven points off the bench.

The Shockers outrebounded MSU 40-24, helped by 17 offensive rebounds.

The Bears dropped their fifth straight. WSU extended its winning streak to a season-high seven games. Each of the last five have come by double-digits.

The Shockers play their next two games at home, beginning Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against Drake on ESPN3. Loyola comes to town Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. tip on Cox Channel Kansas.
