Box Score PEORIA, Ill. – Wichita State hit .353 on its way to a 3-0 win over Bradley. The Shockers won by scores of 25-20, 25-13 and 25-17.
MaryAshton Floyd led the Shockers with nine kills and hit .467, while Abbie Lehman and Mikaela Raudsepp had eight kills each. Emily Hiebert added 36 assists and Dani Mostrom had 11 digs.
WSU used a 5-0 run to go up 10-5 in the first set. The Braves answered with a 6-1 run to tie it at 11, but the Shockers used a Brave hitting error to take a 15-12 lead. The Braves came back to tie it at 18 after a Shocker hitting error, but kills from Emily Hiebert and Mikaela Raudsepp and a block by Hiebert and Abbie Lehman gave WSU a 21-19 lead. The Shockers scored four of the next five points to win 25-20.
The Shockers jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the second set and increased it to 15-5 on a block by Mikaela Raudsepp. WSU ended the set with three-straight kills to win 25-13.
The Braves raced out to a 10-5 lead in the third set, but the Shockers came back to take a 13-12 lead after a couple of BU errors. Two kills each from Floyd and Whitledge put WSU up 17-13 and the Shockers closed out the set 25-17 on a kill by Raudsepp.
The Shockers are next in action on Sat., Sept. 27 at Loyola at 7 p.m.
