They are led offensively by Derek Hannahs who is hitting .367 with two doubles and 19 RBI. INS is led by first-year head coach Mitch Hannahs.

Wichita State leads the overall series with Indiana State 97-41. The Shockers also lead the series in Terre Haute, Ind., 38-17. WSU went 4-1 against the Sycamores in 2013 with a series win in Wichita and two wins in the MVC Tournament. The Shockers last won a series in Terre Haute in 2008.
Last Meeting vs. INS
The last meeting between the two teams was May 24, 2013, in Normal, Ill, in the MVC Tournament. The Shockers won the game 5-4. Garrett Bayliff went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Micah Green went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Foster Vielock earned the win and Brandon Peterson picked up the save.

Elam Named Valley Pitcher of the Week
Wichita State baseball student-athlete Cale Elam has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 24-30.
Elam, a senior from Oktaha, Okla., earned the win on Saturday against No. 9 Cal State Fullerton. He threw his first complete game of the season and allowed just two runs on four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.
He retired 16 of the last 17 hitters that he faced and allowed just six base runners in the game. He needed just 111 pitches in his nine innings of work. With the win, he improved to 5-0 on the year.
It was the first complete game by a Shocker pitcher this season.
Hitting Streaks Alive
Junior Casey Gillaspie and sophomore Tanner Dearman both extended their hitting streaks on Tuesday. Gillaspie is now on a 13-game hitting streak, which is a career-best, and Dearman is on a career-best 12-game hitting streak. During Gillaspie's streak, he is 20-for-52 (.385) with seven runs, three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI. During Dearman's streak, he is 20-for-49 (.408) with 10 runs, three doubles, one triple, five RBI and four stolen bases.
Top-10 Wins
With two wins over No. 9 Cal State Fullerton this weekend, the Shockers won their first games at Eck Stadium over a top-10 team since beating No. 8 Oklahoma in 2006. It was the first three-game series win over a ranked opponent since taking two of three from No. 11 Pepperdine in 2009.
Weekend Rotation
The weekend rotation of A.J. Ladwig, Cale Elam, and Sam Tewes continues to be impressive for the Shockers. The trio is 11-4 with a 1.66 ERA. In 125 innings pitched, the rotation has 24 walks and 91 strikeouts.
Tough Road Trip
The Shockers will start a nine-game road trip this week in Lawrence, Kan., on Tuesday. Wichita State then travels to Indiana State for three-games over the weekend, to Kansas State and Oral Roberts for single games next week and a three-game series at Evansville, April 11-13.
