Foster was very proud of how his team played during regular season conference play and how his seniors played throughout their careers.
“This group, within conference play, has had the targets on their backs since the day they arrived at WSU,” Foster said. “I'm just really proud of the way they continue to handle that pressure and expectation. We've got an opportunity next weekend to play for another championship and I know the ladies are excited for the chance to extend their season.
“Lastly, these seniors have been such a huge part of this program and its success. I would be remiss if I didn't personally thank Blasco Fernandez, Blaskova and Mahajaroenkul for representing the Shockers with such heart and class. I am proud to be their coach and am excited to have at least a few more chances to watch them compete.”
No. 54 Wichita State's next match is on April 26 during the MVC Tournament Championship Semifinals at the Gregory Street Tennis Courts in Normal, Ill. at 10 a.m. The Shockers will be the No. 1 seed and takes on the winner of the Northern Iowa/Illinois State quarterfinals matchup.
