WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State fell 7-0 to Long Beach State during the second game of their doubleheader on Friday. The Shockers fell to 7-3 on the year while the Dirtbags improved to 4-6.

Andrew Rohrbach (1-1) picked up his first win of the year for the Dirtbags. He pitched a complete game four-hit shutout, walking four and striking out nine. Sam Tewes (2-1) suffered his first loss on the year.

For Long Beach State, Garrett Hampson went 2-4 with a double while Michael Hill went 1-4 and had 2 RBI. Tyler Baker went 1-2 with a double for the Shockers.

The game was scoreless until Long Beach State scored five in the top of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. Hill began the Dirtbags' five-run rally with a 2-RBI triple, scoring Hampson and Zach Domingues.

Ino Patron then hit a RBI double, knocking in Hill. Patron later scored from a Cameron Pongs sacrifice fly to center. Two batters later, Colton Vaughn hit a RBI single that plated Alex Bishop.

Long Beach State scored two more runs during the top of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 7-0. Hill reached on a fielding error, allowing Hampson to score. Richard Prigatano later plated Hill with a RBI single.

Wichita State finishes their three-game series with Long Beach State Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
