CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI used 20 kills from Eryca Hingtgen to defeat Wichita State 3-1. The Panthers won by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-22.

Ashlyn Driskill tied her career-high with 20 kills and hit .312, while MaryAshton Floyd tied her career-high with 16 kills and hit .452. Emily Hiebert led the Shockers with 49 assists, while Dani Mostrom had 26 digs.

The Shockers took an early 6-3 lead in the first set after a kill from Abbie Lehman. UNI used a 4-0 run to take a 7-6 lead, but a kill from Mikaela Raudsepp put WSU up 10-8. A block from Jenny Whitledge and Kristin Byers increased the lead to 14-11 and a kill from MaryAshton Floyd put WSU up 17-12. After a kill from Whitledge made the score 18-14, UNI took over the set. The Panthers scored 11 of the final 13 points to win 25-20.

The second set went back and forth until UNI took a 7-4 lead. Kills from Ashlyn Driskill and Jaclyn Roddy tied the set at eight and a kill from Byers gave WSU a 14-11 lead. A kill from Whitledge increased the lead to 18-13, but a Panther service ace pulled UNI to within 23-20. Back-to-back Panther kills cut the lead to 24-22, but a Floyd kill gave WSU the 25-22 win.

UNI jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the third set, but the Shockers used three-straight kills to pull within 17-13. Back-to-back kills from Driskill cut the lead to 18-19, but one was as close as WSU could get as UNI won 25-23.

The Panthers took an early 10-7 lead in the fourth set and increased it to 18-13 with a block.  Two-straight kills for Abbie Lehman pulled WSU to within 22-20, but UNI answered with two-straight to go in front 24-20. Floyd responded with two-straight kills to pull within 24-22, but UNI scored the final point for a 25-22 win.

The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Nov. 7 against Missouri State at 7 p.m. inside Charles Koch Arena.
