CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Ashley Andrade had 18 kills and hit .708 to lead Wichita State to a 3-1 win at Northern Iowa. The Shockers (12-3, 2-0) won by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-15.

Chelsey Feekin had nine kills, 47 assists and 11 digs, while Dani Mostrom had a career-high 19 digs. Katie Reilly added 14 kills and Ashlyn Driskill had 13 kills.

The Shockers held a brief 2-1 lead in the first set before UNI raced out to an 8-4 lead. WSU pulled to within 10-9 on a block from Feekin, but the Panthers went back up 15-12 with a kill. WSU used a 7-1 run to take a 21-18 lead, but the Panthers closed out the set on a 7-0 run to take a 25-21 win.

The second set went back-and-forth until an Andrade kill gave the Shocks a 12-10 lead. UNI took a 17-15 lead with a kill, but kills from Ashlyn Driskill and Elizabeth Field tied the score at 17. The Shocks used a block from Feekin and Field for a 21-18 lead and won the set 25-21.

A Katie Reilly give gave the Shocks an 8-5 lead in the third set and back-to-back kills from Sam Sanders increased the lead to 14-8. UNI could pull no closer than four the rest of the way as the Shockers won the set 25-20.

The Shockers raced out to a 7-2 lead in the fourth set after three kills from Driskill, two from Reilly and one from Field. A 5-0 Shocker run increased the lead to 16-10 and WSU cruised to the 25-15 win.

The Shockers are next in action on Sat., Sept. 28 at Drake at 7 p.m.
