Box Score MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State scored five runs in the eighth and one in the ninth to defeat Wichita State 7-6.
Cody Bobbit went 1-for-4 with three RBI and a triple, while Mikel Mucha went 3-for-4 with a double.
Reliever Aaron LaBrie took the loss. He went one inning and gave up three runs on four hits.
WSU jumped on the board in the top of the first. Cody Bobbit led off with a four-pitch walk and moved to third on a double to right field by Garrett Bayliff. Bobbit scored on a wild pitch and Bayliff scored on a double play for a 2-0 Shocker lead.
KSU scored a run in the fourth. Jared King tripled with one out and scored on a single from Blair DeBord to cut the lead to 2-1.
Mikel Mucha led off the seventh with a single and after a Wildcat error put runners at first and second, Joe Haddox singled to load the bases with no outs. Bobbit then tripled to centerfield to clear the bases and give the Shocks a 5-1 lead. A sacrifice fly for Johnny Coy made the score 6-1.
The Wildcats used five hits in the eighth to score five runs and tie the score at six. The winning run in the ninth scored on a passed ball.
The Shockers are next in action on Wed., April 10 against McPherson at 6:30 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
