Box Score WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State scored three runs in the eighth inning to defeat Air Force 4-1.
Aaron LaBrie pitched four perfect innings in relief to earn the win. Joe Haddox went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Wichita State got on the board in the fourth inning. Johnny Coy led off with a double and moved to third on a groundout from Tyler Baker. With two outs, Coy scored on a Falcon error to give WSU a 1-0 lead.
Air Force tied the game in the sixth. The Falcons loaded the bases with no outs off of Zach Beringer, but Aaron LaBrie came into the game and got a sacrifice fly, strikeout and flyout to end the threat.
The Shockers loaded the bases in the eighth with no outs and took the 2-1 lead on a bases loaded walk to Dayne Parker. With two outs, Joe Haddox singled to centerfield to drive in two for the final score of 4-1.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., March 29 when they open Missouri Valley Conference with Illinois State at 6:30 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
