WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State earned a thrilling four-set win over Illinois State on Senior Night in Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers won by scores of 19-25, 25-14, 25-19 and 26-24.

Katie Reilly led the Shockers with 11 kills, while Chelsey Feekin had 36 assists and Dani Mostrom had 18 digs.

The Redbirds jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the first set before the Shockers pulled to within 19-15 on a kill from Feekin. ILS closed out the set on a 6-4 run to take a 25-19 win.

The second set went back-and-forth until the Shockers used an 8-0 run to take a 12-5 lead. A kill from Sam Sanders increased the lead to 15-7 and ILS used a timeout after back-to-back hitting errors put the Shocks in front 17-8. Back-to-back service aces by Katie Reilly gave the Shocks a 23-13 lead and WSU won the set 25-14.

The two teams traded points in the third set until the Shockers used a 4-0 run to go in front 10-7.  ILS used a kill from Ashley Rosch to pull within 13-11, but a kill from Ashley Andrade put the Shocks in front 17-13.  WSU won the set 25-19.

WSU jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the fourth set, but the Redbirds took a 7-6 lead after a kill from Stacey Niao. Two-straight service aces increased the Redbird lead to 9-6, but three kills from Reilly gave the Shocks a 14-13 lead.  ILS took a 17-16 lead with a service ace, but two-straight Redbird hitting errors gave the Shocks a 22-21 lead. ILS scored two-straight to tie the score at 24, but WSU used a kill from Feekin and a block from Andrade to win the set 26-24.

The Shockers are next in action on Thurs., Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Loyola.
