Wichita State held Bradley to a season low point total and tallied their
largest margin of victory of the season with a 73-39 thrashing Saturday evening
in Charles Koch Arena.
Nick Wiggins led four Shockers in double figures with 12
points on 4-of-6 shooting including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Jake
White added 11 and a team-high nine rebounds. Cleanthony Early and Malcolm
Armstead each scored 10 for Wichita State (19-2, 8-1) in their 19th straight
home victory. Armstead also had a team-high eight assists.
Walt Lemon Jr. was the only Brave to reach double figures as
the visitors from Peoria, Ill. shot 15-for-47 (.319) from the field. No other Bradley (12-9, 4-5) player scored more than seven.
With Wichita State leading 39-30 with 15:21 remaining in the
game following a pair of free throws from Lemon Jr., the Shockers went on a
30-7 run that included all 12 of Wiggins' points. The junior from Toronto,
Canada hit all three of his 3-pointers over a four-minute stretch including his
second from two feet behind the three-point arc.
Senior Demetric Williams earned his 100th victory
in a Shocker uniform one game after becoming the all-time leader in victories
in school history.
Wichita State will host Indiana State on Tue., Jan. 29 at 7
p.m. The game will be broadcast on Kansas 22.
