TULSA, Okla.- The No. 62 Wichita State women's tennis team earned their first win of the season, defeating Oral Roberts, 7-0, on Wednesday at the Case Tennis Complex.

The Shocker women got their season off on the right foot by capturing the doubles point. Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul and Montse Blasco Fernandez defeated Marizanne Bouwer and Rachel Scroggs, 8-5, and Summer Schlotterback and Rebecca Pedrazzi defeated Brittany Smith and Natalia Dollar, 8-1, to give the Shockers an early 1-0 lead in the match.

The success continued in singles play for Wichita State (1-0), as they took all the matches in straight sets. The Shockers only allowed the Golden Eagles to capture two points in the six singles contests.

The Shocker women will continue their team season on Saturday, January 19 when they travel to Norman, Okla. for a match against No. 44 Oklahoma. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
