PEORIA, Ill.- The Shocker women's
tennis team was able to stay undefeated in the conference season, defeating
Bradley, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the David Markin Tennis Courts. The
Shockers are 16-5 overall and 5-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Wichita State got off to a good
start in doubles play, winning all three contests to take a 1-0 lead.
The Shockers did not let up in the
singles contest, taking all the singles matches as well. No. 76 Lutfiana
Budiharto defeated Elizabeth Przystawsk, 6-3, 6-0, and in the number six
position, Montse Blasco Fernandez clinched the match when she defeated Carly
Miles, 6-1, 6-1.
The Shocker women are back in
action next weekend for their last home matches of the season. On Saturday,
they will take on Drake at 1 p.m. Sunday they will play Northern Iowa at 10
a.m. Both matches will take place at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.
