Box Score WICHITA, Kan.- The Shocker baseball team lost the second
game of a three-game series against the Tulane Green Wave, 7-2, on Saturday
afternoon at Eck Stadium.
Starting pitcher Albert Minnis pitched 6.2 innings for the
Shockers, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out one in a losing
effort.
Taylor Doggett went two-for-three with two walks.
The Wave got on the board first in the fourth inning. A
single by Blake Crohan scored Brandon Boudreaux, then, in the next at-bat, Sean
Potkay hit a three-run homerun over the left field wall to put Tulane up, 4-0.
The Shockers had the bases loaded in the sixth, but were
only able to score one run on a Dayne Parker sacrifice fly that scored Taylor
Doggett, to put the score at 4-1.
In the seventh, Erik Harbutz would cut into the lead a
little more when he singled to left field to score Tyler Coughenour, putting
the score at 4-2.
Tulane would put the game away in the ninth. Nick
Schneeberger hit a solo homerun, and then after Blake Crohan walked, Sean
Potkay hit another homerun for the Wave over the left field wall.
The Shocks will take on the Green Wave in the final game of
the series on Sunday at Eck Stadium. The game starts at 1 p.m.
