OMAHA, Neb.- The Shocker women's tennis team earned their
first conference win of the season on Sunday, defeating Creighton, 7-0, at the
Hanscom Indoor Tennis Center to move their season record to 6-4.
Wichita State would first take the doubles point when
Lutfiana Budiharto and Carla Venticinque defeated Jennie Hartjes and Kelsey
Schmidt, 8-4, and Veronika Blaskova and Valerie Brockman defeated Taylor
Koehrson and Analese Snyder, 8-2, to go up 1-0 for the match.
The Shocks continued their strong play into the singles
competition, taking all of their matches in straight sets. Lutfiana continued
her undefeated weekend at the number one spot, taking down Jennie Hartjes, 6-0,
6-2.
Wichita State will continue play Saturday, Mar. 3 when they
travel to Laramie, Wyo. to take on Wyoming at
noon.
